Buying herbs and spices in bulk is about controlling specification, not chasing the lowest spot price. Here is the checklist professional buyers use.
Pin the specification
- Grade & form — whole, cut, rubbed, ground, flakes, or granules.
- Essential oil / active — carvacrol (oregano), thymol (thyme), curcumin (turmeric), piperine (pepper).
- Moisture — typically ≤12% for dried herbs and spices.
- Foreign matter & leaf-to-stalk ratio — tightest on top grades.
- Microbiology — total plate count, yeast/mould, pathogens; steam-treated options on request.
Choose the Incoterm and write a complete RFQ
DDP collapses import into a single landed price; FOB/CIF suit buyers with their own logistics. Include product, grade, form, volume, packing, destination, and Incoterm. Browse the catalogue and send your RFQ.
